Admission is based on securing employment contracts with partner companies rather than traditional academic entry requirements. Programs conducted in German require B2-C1 proficiency and primarily appeal to students with clear career paths in specific companies because the model combines immediate employment with academic qualification. However, the intensive schedule of working and studying leaves little time for traditional student life. As a private institution, tuition fees apply, though they are often partially covered by employer partners. The vocational focus means that degrees prepare students specifically for roles within partner companies rather than for broad academic or research pursuits. The Berufsakademie is suited for students who have already identified employer partners and prefer to earn while learning in structured programs rather than seeking a traditional university education with academic freedom, research opportunities, or the vibrant student culture for which Göttingen is known through its historic university.
