Fachhochschule der Verwaltung des Saarlandes
The Fachhochschule fĂŒr Verwaltung des Saarlandes (FHSV), founded in 1980 and based in Quierschied-Göttelborn, is a state-run University of Applied Sciences under the authority of the Saarland Ministry of the Interior, Building, and Sport, serving as the central training institution for upper-level public service professionals. It offers structured three-year diploma programmes in General Administrative Service and Police Enforcement Service, both following a dual model that combines academic study with practical training and leading to the qualification of Diplom-Verwaltungswirt (FH). While the General Administration programme focuses on state and municipal public administration through courses in law, economics, finance, social sciences and administrative science, the Police Enforcement Service track prepares students for senior-level police roles with an interdisciplinary curriculum in police science, legal studies, organisational theory and social sciences. Complementing its core study paths, the FHSV also provides continuing education seminars in public service training, advanced police education and European administrative management, supporting lifelong learning and professional development in the public sector.
