The University of Applied Sciences for Business (FHDW) is run by the Educational Center for Information Processing Professions gGmbH and entered the higher education landscape of North Rhine-Westphalia in 1993 with its first campus in Paderborn. In 1996, another university was established in Lower Saxony with the founding of FHDW Hannover. Today, FHDW is known for its practice-oriented degree programs with strong links to the business sector, combining academic education with close cooperation with industry.
