Established in 2009, Hamm-Lippstadt University of Applied Sciences (HSHL) is one of Germany's newest public universities. Its 6,000 students are split between campuses in Hamm (population 180,000) and Lippstadt (population 70,000) in North Rhine-Westphalia. This young university offers bachelor's and master's programs in engineering, computer science, business administration, and health sciences. Numerus Clausus (Admission Restriction)
For degree courses with a numerus clausus, part of the study places are allocated according to the grade point average (GPA) of the previous degree. Selection is generally based on how many applicants apply for a place. The higher the grade, the more difficult it is to get onto the course. The German grading system ranges from 1.0 (very good) to 6.0 (unsatisfactory).
