Rheinische Hochschule Köln (RH Köln) is a state-recognized university of applied sciences under private, non-profit sponsorship, based in Cologne. It grew out of the Rheinische Ingenieurschule für Bau- und Maschinenbauwesen, founded in 1958 by Gottfried Päffgen, and gained formal recognition as a Fachhochschule in 1971. In March 2024, it rebranded from Rheinische Fachhochschule Köln to Rheinische Hochschule Köln, marking its evolution into a broader university of applied sciences.

Spread across several locations in Cologne, RH Köln combines an unusually wide range of fields under one roof — engineering, business, psychology & law, media, and health economics — taught by a mix of full-time professors and a large pool of freelance lecturers drawn from practice. Programs run in full-time, part-time, and dual-study formats, and the university belongs to the network of the Rheinische Stiftung für Bildung.
