The Rheinische Hochschule Köln (RH Köln) is a state-recognized university of applied sciences (Hochschule für Angewandte Wissenschaften) under private, non-profit sponsorship in Cologne, Germany. Rooted in the Rheinische Ingenieurschule für Bau- und Maschinenbauwesen, which was founded in 1971, it was formally established as a university of applied sciences in 1971 and belongs to the network of the Rheinische Stiftung für Bildung. Across four locations in Cologne, around 6,000 students are taught by approximately 245 professors and staff members as well as 250 freelance lecturers, across 30 bachelor's and master's programs in the fields of engineering, business, psychology & law, media, and health economics — available in full-time, part-time, and dual study formats. In March 2024, the institution underwent a comprehensive rebranding, changing its name from Rheinische Fachhochschule Köln to Rheinische Hochschule Köln to reflect its evolution into a modern university of applied sciences.
