The Thüringer Fachhochschule für öffentliche Verwaltung (Thuringia University of Applied Sciences for Public Administration) was founded by law in April 1994. It is an administrative institution of the Free State of Thuringia that operates under the supervision of the Thuringian Ministry of the Interior and Municipal Affairs. Its main campus is in Gotha, and its police department is in Meiningen.
