More about this webinar
The planet is your research lab
Why do some storms intensify so fast? What happens deep below the surface before an earthquake? How did the atmosphere, oceans, rocks, and living things shape each other over millions of years, and what does that tell us about the climate ahead?
These are the questions Earth scientists work on. And they matter far beyond the university, for climate adaptation, natural hazard protection, resources, and environmental policy.
Pick your angle
The programs in this webinar look at the Earth from different directions. Depending on what fascinates you, you can:
- Study the atmosphere and climate. From tiny processes inside clouds to long-term climate change, with numerical modelling, field and lab work, and your own research project.
- Explore what happens beneath the surface. Focus on seismology, exploration geophysics, and natural hazards, combining theory with field experiments.
- Think in Earth systems. Learn how atmosphere, biosphere, geosphere, and hydrosphere interact across time, and how science feeds into policy and international cooperation.
- Go from cosmos to rocks. Investigate the formation of the Earth and Moon, the development of Earth's crust, and the processes that connect its spheres, using modern analytical methods.
You might be a great fit if...
- You studied geosciences, meteorology, geophysics, physics, or a related natural science
- You enjoy fieldwork as much as working with data and models
- You want to understand climate change, natural hazards, or Earth's history at a deeper level
- You're considering a research career, or want science skills that matter outside the lab
What you'll walk away with
- A clear picture of what each program covers and how it's structured
- An answer to "Does my bachelor's fit the requirements?"
- A checklist of what you need: academic background, language certificates, and deadlines
- A sense of where graduates work, inside and outside research
- Direct answers from the program teams in a live Q&A
