About the university

DHBW (Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University)
More about this webinar
Most universities give you theory and let you figure out the practice later. DHBW — the Duale Hochschule Baden-Württemberg — does it differently. As Germany's first and largest cooperative state university, it operates entirely on the dual model: you spend three months at university studying the theory, then three months working at your partner company applying it. Then you repeat that cycle for three years until you graduate with a full bachelor's degree and the kind of hands-on experience most graduates spend years trying to build after finishing their studies.
The partner company employs you from the start — which means you receive a monthly salary throughout your degree. The 8,000+ partner companies include names like Bosch, SAP, Daimler, Porsche, and hundreds of Mittelstand firms across Baden-Württemberg and beyond. And because the company selects you before you enroll, the admission process at DHBW works differently from any other university — understanding that process is the first thing any prospective student needs to get right.
DHBW has nine locations across Baden-Württemberg — including Stuttgart, Mannheim, and Karlsruhe — and offers programs in Business, Engineering, and Social Work. With over 34,000 students, it is the largest higher education institution in the state by enrollment.
You will learn:
- How the dual study model works in practice — the rhythm of theory and practice phases, and what a typical three-year program looks like
- How the admission process works — why you need a company contract before enrolling, how to find a partner company, and what DHBW looks for in applicants
- Which programs and locations are available — and which direction fits your background and career goals
- What studying at DHBW as an international student looks like — language requirements, support structures, and what to prepare
- Live Q&A — ask the DHBW team your questions directly
Come knowing what you want to build. Leave knowing how DHBW gets you there.
