Aschaffenburg: International Programs with Admission Restriction — Numerus Clausus/NC (2026/27)

Aschaffenburg offers international students a charming, highly livable environment in northern Bavaria, combining historic elegance with a relaxed pace of life along the Main River. Dominated by the striking Renaissance Schloss Johannisburg and blessed with a mild climate and abundant green spaces, the city is often compared to Mediterranean towns—earning it the nickname "Bavarian Nice." Unexpected cultural gems like the Pompejanum, a replica Roman villa commissioned by King Ludwig I, and the sprawling Schönbusch landscape park add depth beyond what you might expect from a town of 70,000 residents. The friendly, community-oriented atmosphere helps students feel at home quickly, while cafés along the riverfront, local wine festivals, and a walkable old town shape everyday life outside the lecture hall. Frankfurt sits just 40 minutes away by train, providing easy access to one of Europe's major business hubs and Germany's largest airport—ideal for trips home or weekend escapes across the continent.
