Kempten: International Programs with Admission Restriction — Numerus Clausus/NC (2026/27)

Kempten offers international students a distinctive educational experience at Hochschule Kempten, a university of applied sciences specialising in tourism management, business administration, mechanical engineering, and food technology—fields where the Allgäu region's thriving tourism industry, renowned dairy production, and innovative manufacturing sector provide natural connections between classroom learning and real-world application. This vibrant Alpine city claims the title of Bavaria's oldest urban settlement, with 2,000 years of history visible in Roman excavations, baroque basilicas, and a beautifully preserved old town that offers authentic Bavarian culture without the tourist intensity of more famous destinations. The intimate campus atmosphere means small class sizes, close relationships with professors, and personalised attention that helps international students thrive academically while building genuine professional networks through internships with regional businesses. Beyond academics, the setting is hard to beat: the Allgäu Alps rise just beyond the city, offering spectacular hiking in summer and skiing in winter, while Lake Constance and the Austrian border sit within easy reach for weekend exploration.
