International Study Programs in Freising without Admission Restriction / NC-Free (2026/27)

Freising offers international students a distinctive educational experience at the Weihenstephan campus of Technical University of Munich (TUM), specialising in agricultural sciences, brewing and beverage technology, food engineering, and life sciences—fields where centuries of tradition meet cutting-edge research in a setting unlike any other university location in the world. The Weihenstephan brewery, founded in 1040 and recognised as the world's oldest continuously operating brewery, serves as both living history and state-of-the-art research facility where students gain expertise in Germany's legendary brewing traditions while pushing the boundaries of fermentation science and food technology. This charming Bavarian town perched on hills above the Isar River provides the intimate atmosphere of a dedicated life sciences campus while carrying the full prestige of one of Europe's leading technical universities, creating an environment where students benefit from world-class resources and research networks without the anonymity of a massive urban institution. The picturesque old town, crowned by the magnificent cathedral complex on Domberg hill, offers authentic immersion in Bavarian culture—traditional beer gardens, local festivals, and a genuine community character that helps international students feel welcome quickly.
