Kleve: Admission Restriction - Numerus Clausus/NC (2026/27)

Kleve offers international students a distinctive educational experience at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences (Hochschule Rhein-Waal), an institution designed from its founding in 2009 as deliberately international—with English as the primary language of instruction across most programmes and a student body drawn from over 120 countries, creating one of Germany's most diverse campus communities in an unexpectedly small-town setting. The university's strengths in agricultural sciences, biomedicine, sustainable technology, and international business reflect forward-thinking programme design, while modern, purpose-built facilities provide the infrastructure to match academic ambition. This charming historic town near the Dutch border offers striking contrast between contemporary campus life and centuries of heritage: the impressive Schwanenburg Castle dominates the skyline, and baroque gardens designed by the same landscape architect who created Berlin's Tiergarten provide beautiful spaces for reflection between lectures. The bicultural environment proves genuinely distinctive—the Netherlands sits just minutes away by bicycle, making it easy to experience two European cultures, languages, and perspectives from a single affordable base.
