International Education and Upbringing in Childhood Master Programs in Germany (2026/2027)

Education and Upbringing in Childhood programs in Germany prepare international students to engage with one of life’s most formative stages, studying in the country that gave the world kindergarten through Friedrich Fröbel’s vision of play-based learning. Today, German early childhood education continues to balance creative exploration with rising academic expectations, grounded in the understanding that childhood is not simply preparation for life, but life itself. These English-taught degrees approach child development from multiple perspectives, examining how forest kindergartens build resilience through outdoor play in all seasons, how alternative models like Waldorf and Montessori—both rooted in Germany—shape holistic education, and how universal access to childcare, enshrined in law, transforms family dynamics.
