Ethics - Teaching Degree Vocational School [Berufliche Schule] Master Programs in Germany without tuition fees (2026/27)

Studying Ethics for a teaching degree at vocational schools means helping young adults navigate moral questions that arise directly in their professional and personal lives – from workplace honesty and professional responsibility to consumer ethics, digitalization, and the balance between profit and sustainability. As an ethics teacher at a vocational school, you work with apprentices, trainees, and students who are already immersed in the working world and face real ethical dilemmas: How do I handle a dishonest supervisor? What responsibility does a business have toward the environment?

Studying Ethics for a teaching degree at vocational schools means helping young adults navigate moral questions that arise directly in their professional and personal lives – from workplace honesty and professional responsibility to consumer ethics, digitalization, and the balance between profit and sustainability. As an ethics teacher at a vocational school, you work with apprentices, trainees, and students who are already immersed in the working world and face real ethical dilemmas: How do I handle a dishonest supervisor? What responsibility does a business have toward the environment? How do I balance career ambitions with personal values? The degree program combines philosophical foundations – moral theory, applied ethics, anthropology – with vocational pedagogy and didactics tailored to heterogeneous, practice-oriented learners who bring diverse life experiences into the classroom. Ethics at vocational schools is not abstract philosophizing but grounded reflection on the challenges of modern work and life, fostering critical thinking, tolerance, and personal responsibility. Job prospects are solid, as ethics or values education is increasingly recognized as essential in vocational training, and teachers who can connect philosophical inquiry to the realities of professional life are in demand. Those who enjoy practical philosophy, want to engage with young adults at a pivotal moment in their lives, and believe that ethical reflection belongs at the heart of vocational education will find in this teaching field a meaningful and future-oriented profession.
