Islamic Religion: List of all study programs in Germany (2026/27)

The study of the Islamic religion delves into the beliefs, practices, and cultural dimensions of one of the world’s largest religions, followed by over a billion people worldwide. Rooted in the Quran and the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad, Islam encompasses a rich tradition of spirituality, law, philosophy, and art that has profoundly influenced global history and culture.

Programs in Islamic Studies explore core aspects such as theology (Aqidah), jurisprudence (Fiqh), Quranic studies (Tafsir), and the sayings of the Prophet (Hadith). Students also examine the religion’s historical development, its role in contemporary societies, and its diverse cultural expressions across the globe.

Beyond religious doctrine, these studies provide insights into topics like Islamic ethics, interfaith dialogue, and the interplay between Islam and modernity.
