Founded in 1662, the Academy of Fine Arts Nuremberg is the oldest art academy in the German-speaking world and offers around 300 students an intimate and creative environment in the vibrant city of Nuremberg, Bavaria. It provides Bachelor’s and Master’s programs in Fine Art, Painting, Sculpture, Photography, Graphic Design/Visual Communication, Art Education, and Performative Practices, with a strong emphasis on individual artistic development and interdisciplinary collaboration supported by small class sizes and close mentoring from experienced professors. Through Erasmus+ and other international partnerships, students can participate in exchange programs and global projects, while notable alumni such as Günther Uecker and Ottmar Hörl highlight the academy’s long-standing reputation for fostering artistic excellence.
