The Hochschule für Fernsehen und Film München (HFF München) is a publicly funded film school founded in 1966 by decree of the Bavarian government. With approximately 350 students in 2021, the HFF Munich is one of the most prestigious film schools in Germany, with a low teacher-student ratio of approximately 1:9 and a staff-student ratio of approximately 1:4. Located in the heart of Munich's Kunstareal museum district, the HFF Munich campus offers students state-of-the-art facilities, including three cinemas, a VR cinema and four film studios. The school's central location allows students to immerse themselves in Munich's vibrant cultural scene while pursuing their passion for filmmaking.

The HFF Munich offers five main courses: Film and Television Drama Directing, Documentary and Television Reportage Directing, Film Production and Media Economics, Screenwriting and Cinematography.
