The Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz (JGU) is a public research university founded in 1477 and re-established in 1946. Today, it is one of the largest universities in Germany, with more than 32,000 students enrolled across 10 faculties, plus the Academy of Music and the Academy of Arts.
