Public relations refers to a series of promotional activities by an organization to improve its relationship with the public, to foster public awareness, to understand and support the organization, and to achieve the purpose of establishing a good organizational image and promoting sales of goods. When a business enterprise or individual takes conscious and deliberate steps to improve and maintain its public relations status, it is engaging in public relations activities. As part of the long-term development strategy portfolio of a public relations subject, public relations connotes such management functions: assessing the attitudes of the public, identifying individual or organizational policies and procedures that are in line with the public interest, formulating and implementing various action programs, increasing the visibility and reputation of the subject, improving its image, and gaining the understanding and acceptance of the relevant public.
