Sports - Teacher Education Academic Secondary Education [Gymnasium]: Top Study Programs in Germany (2026/27)

Studying sports education at secondary schools means combining your own enthusiasm for exercise with the opportunity to motivate young people to lead an active, healthy lifestyle. As a physical education teacher, you are often the teacher that students remember most fondly—because sports offer a sense of achievement beyond classroom tests, promote team spirit, and enable young people to test and expand their physical limits. In times of physical inactivity, screen time, and growing health problems among young people, physical education is more important than ever: it lays the foundation for lifelong physical activity and teaches values such as fair play, perseverance, and respect.
