Established in 1814 and restructured as a university of applied sciences and arts in 1971, Coburg University serves 5,000 students across three campuses in Coburg, a northern Bavarian city of 41,000 residents located between Nuremberg and Erfurt. This public institution offers bachelor's and master's programs in engineering, business administration, social work, health sciences, and design. Its design programs, including interior architecture and integrated product design, are particularly strong. Notably, it offers one of Germany's few dedicated automotive design courses, housed in the converted historic Hofbrauhaus brewery.
