Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society: List of all tuition-free study programs (2026/27)

Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society (HWG LU) is a public university of applied sciences located in Ludwigshafen am Rhein, Rhineland-Palatinate, offering bachelor's and master's programs in business administration, social work, health management, and nursing sciences. This regional Fachhochschule with approximately 4,500 students operates in Ludwigshafen (170,000 residents), an industrial city dominated by BASF, the world's largest chemical company, situated across the Rhine from Mannheim in the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region between Frankfurt and Stuttgart. The university provides typical Hochschule programs with mandatory internships and practical projects, benefiting from proximity to BASF headquarters and regional businesses, though the city itself suffers from industrial character with limited cultural amenities compared to neighboring Mannheim or Heidelberg. Several master's programs operate in English including International Business Management and Innovation Management, aimed at international students, while bachelor's programs require B2-C1 German proficiency with standard applied sciences curriculum emphasizing practical application over research.
