An attractive and forward-looking range of courses, a high standard of education, internationality, interdisciplinarity and innovative research at the highest level have become the hallmarks of the University of Ulm. It is supported in its battery research by the Excellence Strategy of the German Federal and State Governments.

More than 10,000 students are taught and supported in 4 faculties. The Faculties of Medicine, Natural Sciences, Mathematics and Economics, and Engineering, Computer Science and Psychology offer more than 60 degree programmes, some of which are taught in English.

Numerus Clausus (Admission Restriction)

For degree courses with a numerus clausus, part of the study places are allocated according to the grade point average (GPA) of the previous degree. Selection is generally based on how many applicants apply for a place. The higher the grade, the more difficult it is to get onto the course. The German grading system ranges from 1.0 (very good) to 6.0 (unsatisfactory).
