About the University
The University of Hildesheim, officially known as Stiftung Universität Hildesheim, is a public university founded in 1978, although its roots go back to 1946 when it was established as a teacher training college. With approximately 8,300 students, it is a small to medium-sized university located in the charming city of Hildesheim in Lower Saxony, Germany. The university's compact campus fosters a personal and supportive learning environment, with students appreciating the close interaction with faculty members across the four faculties.
The University of Hildesheim offers a wide range of academic programmes, with particular emphasis on educational and social sciences, cultural studies and aesthetic communication, linguistics and information science, and mathematics, natural sciences, economics and computer science.
