A distinctive feature of HTW Saar is its pioneering international orientation: in 1978 it founded the Franco-German Institute for Technology and Business (ISFATES-DFHI), long before ERASMUS and Bologna, and today offers twelve fully integrated double degree programmes, attracting more than 900 international students from 76 countries. With 16% of its student body coming from abroad, far above the national average, the university fosters cultural fluency and prepares graduates for global careers. In addition, HTW Saar is actively committed to social responsibility and sustainability, supporting regional development and innovative business models for SMEs through initiatives such as the Zentrum Mittelstand Saar.
