Amberg: International Programs with Admission Restriction — Numerus Clausus/NC (2026/27)

Amberg offers international students a distinctive educational experience at Ostbayerische Technische Hochschule (OTH) Amberg-Weiden, where technical excellence meets genuine small-town charm in one of Bavaria's best-preserved medieval cities. The university's strong programmes in engineering, business, and applied sciences maintain close ties to regional industry leaders like Siemens and BMW, creating valuable internship pathways and career opportunities in fields where hands-on experience matters as much as classroom theory. International students benefit from small class sizes, personalised attention from professors, and the university's growing reputation for innovation in digital manufacturing, renewable energy, and industrial automation—areas with strong demand across Germany and beyond. The perfectly preserved medieval old town, encircled by its distinctive egg-shaped city wall with towers still standing guard, provides a picturesque backdrop for daily life: cobblestone streets, traditional beer gardens, and authentic Bavarian culture without tourist crowds make settling in feel like stepping into a living history that remains genuinely lived-in.
