Overview Deadlines

Germany’s Ceramic Design programs offer international students an education that fuses artistic creativity with material science and craftsmanship, preparing them to design and produce both functional and experimental ceramic works. These English-taught degrees cover ceramic materials and processes, surface and form design, sustainable production, and modern innovations such as digital fabrication and 3D printing. With access to state-of-the-art studios, kilns, and workshops, students master both traditional handcrafting and industrial ceramics manufacturing.

Numerus Clausus (Admission Restriction)

For degree courses with a numerus clausus, part of the study places are allocated according to the grade point average (GPA) of the previous degree. Selection is generally based on how many applicants apply for a place. The higher the grade, the more difficult it is to get onto the course. The German grading system ranges from 1.0 (very good) to 6.0 (unsatisfactory).
