At German universities, particularly in northern regions close to Frisian-speaking areas, you'll explore the rich linguistic and cultural heritage of the Frisian people while studying at institutions that maintain close connections with Frisian communities. The program combines intensive language training in various Frisian dialects with comprehensive cultural and historical studies, allowing students to work with rare Frisian texts and documents while learning from scholars who actively contribute to Frisian language preservation efforts.

The program combines intensive language training in various Frisian dialects with comprehensive cultural and historical studies, allowing students to work with rare Frisian texts and documents while learning from scholars who actively contribute to Frisian language preservation efforts. Students benefit from access to specialized archives containing Frisian literature and historical documents, opportunities for fieldwork in Frisian-speaking regions, and participation in efforts to document and preserve Frisian language varieties. What makes this experience particularly valuable is Germany's commitment to protecting minority languages and cultures, coupled with its geographical proximity to Frisian-speaking areas in both Germany and the Netherlands. With tuition-free education at public universities and strong connections to Frisian cultural institutions, Germany offers international students an unparalleled opportunity to develop expertise in Frisistics while studying in a country that actively supports the preservation of Frisian language and culture.
