History of Science Master Programs in Germany (2026/2027)

History of Science programs in Germany explore how scientific knowledge and practices have developed across cultures and centuries, studying in a country whose universities and research institutions have shaped global science from Kepler’s laws of planetary motion to Einstein’s theory of relativity. These interdisciplinary degrees trace the evolution of ideas, technologies, and institutions from ancient civilizations to today, examining how political, religious, and economic forces shaped discoveries and how key figures like Galileo, Newton, Darwin, and Humboldt transformed our understanding of the natural world. Students analyze original scientific texts, investigate museum collections and archives, and explore the interplay between science, philosophy, and society—developing skills in critical analysis, historical research, and contextual interpretation.
