Tuition-free Optometry Programs in Germany without Admission Restriction — Numerus Clausus/NC (2026/27)

Optometry programs in Germany provide international students with the knowledge and clinical skills to assess, diagnose, and manage vision and eye health, studying in a country known for its precision engineering, advanced medical technologies, and high-quality healthcare system. These programs—often offered as part of ophthalmic optics or vision science degrees—combine in-depth theoretical foundations in optics, anatomy, physiology, and visual neuroscience with extensive hands-on training in eye examinations, corrective lens design, contact lens fitting, and detection of ocular diseases. Students gain practical experience through internships in optical clinics, hospitals, and industry-leading companies such as Zeiss and Rodenstock, where they work with cutting-edge diagnostic tools, digital imaging systems, and lens manufacturing technologies.
