Love them or hate them, the religions of the world have been enormously influential in charting the course of human history, of the movement of peoples and the cultures, languages, and worldviews those people have, just as they themselves have been influenced by these. In short, religion is massively important, both historically and in the present day - that much is clear regardless of one’s personal beliefs. A degree in Religious Studies from a German university will allow you to pursue your interest in religious topics in a broad way (note: if you are looking for a theology course, look carefully - there are options for this in Germany as well, but most programs at least partially in English do not go this route). If you want to understand religion from a historically based and cross-cultural perspective, this is exactly the right subject for you, so get shortlisting!
