The Deggendorf Institute of Technology (DIT), founded in 1994, is a public university of applied sciences in Lower Bavaria. It serves 9,000 students with programs in business, engineering, computer science, health sciences, and tourism management. The university has a main campus in Deggendorf and eight additional technology campuses throughout eastern Bavaria. Located in Deggendorf, a town of 38,000 residents on the Danube River, approximately 150 kilometers from Munich and 30 kilometers from the Austrian border, DIT operates in a small-town setting.
