European University Viadrina: Mediation
European University Viadrina

Study Mediation at European University Viadrina (2026/27)

The European University Viadrina in Frankfurt (Oder) is one of Germany's most international universities, built around a clear mission: bridging Germany and Eastern Europe. Founded in 1991 after reunification, it draws a large share of students from Poland and across the continent. With three faculties – Law, Business and Economics, and Cultural Studies – it stays deliberately small, favouring close contact between students and lecturers over mass lectures. Its cross-border setup is unique: through the Collegium Polonicum, run jointly with Adam Mickiewicz University, study and research reach directly across the Oder into Słubice.

Numerus Clausus (Admission Restriction)

For degree courses with a numerus clausus, part of the study places are allocated according to the grade point average (GPA) of the previous degree. Selection is generally based on how many applicants apply for a place. The higher the grade, the more difficult it is to get onto the course. The German grading system ranges from 1.0 (very good) to 6.0 (unsatisfactory).
