The German Sport University Cologne (DSHS), founded in 1947, is Germany's only university exclusively dedicated to sports science. It has 6,000 students studying programs in sports management, sports psychology, sports medicine, sports journalism, rehabilitation, and physical education teaching. The university is located in Cologne's Müngersdorf district. Admission to this specialized public university is highly competitive, even for programs without NC restrictions, due to the demanding sports aptitude test (Sporteignungsprüfung), which tests proficiency in swimming, athletics, gymnastics, team sports, and endurance, with only a 50-60% pass rate.
