The HDBW is a private, state-recognized university of applied sciences with a focus on business and technology. The main location is Munich, in Bamberg and Traunstein there are study centers.

Students at HDBW complete a practice-oriented course that trains for careers in business. In close cooperation with Bavarian as well as international companies, HDBW offers Bachelor's and Master's degree programs in the areas of business administration, industrial engineering, business informatics, mechanical engineering, and digitization. In addition to classical full-time studies, there are extra-occupational and dual study programs.
