Folklore Studies is an academic discipline dedicated to the exploration of folklore, encompassing the traditional beliefs, customs, narratives, art, music, and practices of communities. This interdisciplinary field examines how cultural expressions are transmitted orally, visually, or through practice, often evolving over time to reflect societal changes.

Folklore includes various genres such as myths, legends, fairy tales, proverbs, rituals, festivals, and material culture like crafts and architecture. Researchers in folklore studies analyze these elements to understand their roles in shaping identity, preserving heritage, and fostering community cohesion.
