Established in 2014, Berlin International University of Applied Sciences (BI) is a state-recognized, nonprofit, private institution in Berlin. It offers English-taught bachelor's and master's programs in business administration, architecture, graphic design, interior design, product design, and data science. As part of the BAU Global Education Network, which has campuses in Washington, Istanbul, Rome, and Toronto, BI enrolls students from over 90 countries. International students comprise approximately 85% of its 1,000-person student body.

For degree courses with a numerus clausus, part of the study places are allocated according to the grade point average (GPA) of the previous degree. Selection is generally based on how many applicants apply for a place. The higher the grade, the more difficult it is to get onto the course.
