Ingolstadt: List of all tuition-free study programs (2026/27)

Ingolstadt offers international students a dynamic educational experience at Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt (THI) and the Catholic University of Applied Sciences, both known for excellence in automotive engineering, business, and healthcare management—fields where the city's position as home to Audi's global headquarters and dozens of technology suppliers creates industry connections that translate directly into internships, research projects, and career pathways. This prosperous Bavarian city provides specialised education in one of Germany's most economically robust regions, where cutting-edge automotive innovation happens daily and students can engage with real-world engineering challenges rather than textbook abstractions alone. The compact, walkable city centre along the Danube River combines medieval fortifications, baroque churches, and cobblestone squares with modern amenities, creating an environment that feels authentically Bavarian without the tourist crowds of more famous destinations. The impressive Audi Forum showcases the future of mobility, while the historic old town—once a powerful Bavarian fortress—preserves traditions, beer gardens, and local character that help international students experience genuine German culture.
