Established in 1965 and named after the German poet Heinrich Heine, Heinrich Heine University DĂŒsseldorf (HHU) is a public research university with 35,000 students on a compact campus in DĂŒsseldorf, the capital of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. This comprehensive university has five faculties: Medicine, Arts and Humanities, Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Business and Economics, and Law. It has particular research strengths in life sciences, plant biology, and interdisciplinary collaborative research centers. The university consistently ranks among Germany's top 50 universities.
