The University of Applied Sciences of the Saxon Police (FH) in Rothenburg/Oberlausitz is the central police training and research institution of the Free State of Saxony. It was established by law in 1994 and has been operating in its current form since its renaming in 2006. With around 600 students (as of the 2020/21 winter semester) – around two-thirds of whom are career changers and around 35% are senior civil servants – prepare for higher police service in a three-year bachelor's degree programme (B.A.) in police service, including a specialisation in cyber and internet crime prevention (CuIKD). Training takes place primarily at the Rothenburg campus and at the Bautzen site, where additional further education and training courses are offered.

Numerus Clausus (Admission Restriction)

For degree courses with a numerus clausus, part of the study places are allocated according to the grade point average (GPA) of the previous degree. Selection is generally based on how many applicants apply for a place. The higher the grade, the more difficult it is to get onto the course.
